week 9 summary

11/25/14
Week accomplishments:

This week we didn't finish the barricade as we only had 2 days of school. However, we got the solidworks from Norma that she has been working on for a while. They are up to date, the only thing it's  missing are the linear slide and the tube.

week 9 goals

11/24/14
Week goals:

The goals this week are to create a barricade for the pick up tube so balls cannot go behind it. The one we made last week is not bad, but it's not very flexible. Next, we will also add servos so the tube can turn and dump the balls, and program those servos.

thats basically how it will stop the balls from getting
behind the lift

week 8 summary

11/21/14
Week accomplishments:

The wiring on the robot was completed. It is organized and working. The programming was also done, and all the parts with the motors can be controlled through robot C using the controller. At the end of the week, we started working a box that would be behind the tube and not allow any balls to pass behind it. We cut up the plastic and drilled holes in it, but we might not use it as it's not very flexible.

Week goals:

The goals for this week are to program all moving part on the robot. We have to make sure all the wiring is correct and all the motors work as they should. If there is time, we will work on making a cutout of plastic to not let any balls behind the pick up tube.

week 7 summary

11/14/14
Week accomplishments:

We completed the new lift system, and mounted it on our robot. It works as it should. One of the problems we came across was the chain system getting in the way. However, we resolved that by putting the lift in the middle.

week 7 goals

11/10/14
Week goals:

The goals for this week are to attach the rack and pinion system with the linear slide onto our robot. We will need to string the linear slide, and attach it to the rack and pinion just like on the previous robot.

week 6 end

11/7/14
Week accomplishments:

We finished the rack and pinion, and attached it to one of the robots. It works, as the rack and pinion lifts up, so does the linear slide due to the string. We attached it on the other team's robot, as we were collaborating on the whole system. Next up is our robot!

week 6

11/3/14
Week goals:

Now that we have the Samantha module attached, we will work on the rack and pinion. We decided to change the whole rack and pinion system, and attach a linear slide to it. This will allow it to reach much higher. The string on the linear slide will cause the slide to extend automatically as the rack and pinion is extending.
